John Wesley's sermons in audio format

Ever wonder what John Wesley would have sounded like while preaching? The following audio clips are his sermons, or portions of them. While it is obvious that no one knows just how much emotion or enthusiasm John Wesley used while preaching, one can get an idea of what his emphasis by reading his writings and catching a bit of the spirit of his life.

John Wesley was not a long-winded preacher. He never preached sermon in his life that lasted longer than 30 minutes. But the effects were such that a whole nation was transformed from the bottom side up. No, not changed totally, but even secular historians note that the Methodist movement saved England from a possible social revolution similar to the French one of the early 19th century. By turning the poor masses to Christ and His righteous ways, the masses were kept from revolting violently against Church and State.

This is a long-term project, but as time and inspiration provides, I hope to add a number of Wesley's more important sermons here. Note that these recordings may not follow the common written versions exactly, but there is no intentional deviation from Wesley's teachings.

Please be patient with the quality of these recordings, as I am in a learning curve, and using non-professional equipment. I hope to be able to make the files at the 6-8mb range for a 30 minute sermon.
